About Us

‘‘Lighthouse Baptist Church

is located in rural Northwest Florida.  It has truly been a lighthouse in this area for years. Although the congregation is small, the work that we have had assigned to us is great.  The work is so great that it can only be accomplished by the power of God, as we obey the Word of God and the Spirit of God. As the pastor, I believe one of the most important jobs of a pastor is to feed the flock. I also believe that one of the most important functions of the local church is to highly exalt the Word of God.  Admittedly, we do not have all of the “extras” that some churches have, but if you are serious about scripture study and spiritual growth please feel free to visit us.‘‘

What We Believe

We have the divine revelation that ALL scripture is given of God. (2 Tim. 3:16) We have divine promise that God will preserve his Word. (Ps. 12:6-7, Ps. 119:89, Matt. 5:18). We have the divine commands that God made for man distilled into a few words. Eccl. 12:13, “…Fear God, and keep his commandments…”. We have been given the divine declaration that ALL scripture is profitable.  The scripture is profitable to tell us what is right (“doctrine”), to tell us we are not right (“reproof”), to tell us how to get right (“correction”), and how to stay right (“instruction in righteousness”).  Since these things are so, it is extremely important for the child of God to study the Word of God.  (2 Tim. 3:15-17 and 2 Tim. 2:15)

The church is, according to 1 Tim. 3:15, “the house of God” and  “the pillar and ground of the truth”.  Therefore the services that the church conducts should be pleasing to the God, whose house it is. How can the church know what is pleasing to God except we consult the Word of God and follow the leading of the Spirit of God?  The church is to be a spiritual, stable, safe place in this shifting, unsafe world.  The church should exalt the unchanging Word of God in a changing world.  The church should operate as a body under the headship of Christ.  The church should act as a spiritual family.  The church should anticipate the coming of Christ as a bride anticipating the arrival of her bridegroom to carry her away to her wedding. There is no organization on the face of the earth that could be a suitable replacement for the church in this age. Therefore, let us not forsake it or neglect it.  It is true that not every organization that is called a church is a good church.  If you are saved and are attending a “church” that is not helping you spiritually, then search for a good church.  Thank the Lord, there are still good churches out there.
